WIA Funding
Flight Crew Systems is currently an authorized provider by numerous state agencies and affiliated companies to provide training under the federal government's Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998. If you are a redeployed professional pilot, you may qualify for such funding assistance. Please contact us today for a list of qualifying states and the steps necessary to obtain pre-approval for our training courses. Sallie Mae Flight Crew Systems is Sallie Mae approved should students desire to pursue a private loan to pay for all or some of their flight training costs. We work directly with SLM Financial Corporation (a wholly owned subsidiary of Sallie Mae) that was founded in 1998 to serve new education and financial markets by offering private credit loans to consumers. The company provides education financing for kindergarten through high school, professional and technical training, part time education and distance learning. In addition, SLM provides consumer loans in most states. SLM bases their lending largely on income and credit. According to SLM, a borrower must be employed and have a gross annual salary that can support the amount being requested. (Salary should be at least 2.5 times the loan amount). Also, an applicant's monthly payments due to current creditors should not exceed 50% of their monthly income. Monthly payments due to creditors include minimum payments on credit cards, auto loan payments, rent or mortgage payments, student loan payments, etc. If the income and credit criteria are met, there is a good chance of the applicant being approved for funding.
